The first thing you notice is the space itself. The lounge leans into modern Malaysian heritage styling - warm wood tones, subtle detailing including rattan design that you see in design South East Asia.
Seating is varied, with dining areas, softer lounge chairs, and quieter corners if you want to work or just switch off. Its a decent lounge with the areas thoughtfully divided up so you can find a space that works for you.

This is where the Plaza Premium Lounge at KLIA knocks it out of the park.
The laksa station is excellent - rich, fragrant, and full of flavour. It tastes like something you’d happily eat outside at a local market or hawker centre.
The buffet includes beautifully prepared chicken and beef rendang, deeply spiced and incredibly flavoursome. The rendang in particular is a standout — tender, aromatic, and genuinely restaurant quality. I went back for a few helpings..
What's also impressive were the vegetarian options on offer - actually, genuinely decent. This isn’t just salad and bread rolls. There are proper hot dishes, plant-based curries, vegetables, noodles and soups that feel intentional and satisfying. If you’re vegetarian, you won’t feel like an afterthought here.
The overall spread blends Malaysian favourites with familiar international options, so there’s something for most travellers. But I would 100% be trying as much of the local dishes as possible

The bar setup is fairly limited; just the one choice of beer on tap; Carlsberg + your standard branded wine and spirits. Also coffee and non-alcoholic options available as well, although don't expect anything special.
The service throughout feels efficient and friendly, and the guys at the bar are attentive. With a high turn over of travellers during peak times, they do well to stay on top of things and keep the area clean and well maintained.

The Plaza Premium Lounge at Kuala Lumpur International Airport is one I'd make a bee line to if you have access. The layout and design is great but its the food with the standout local dishes like laksa and rendang, genuinely good vegetarian options that are the winner here. You could easily decamp here for a few hours if you're in between flights and if you’re transiting through KLIA, this one is absolutely worth visiting.
