How to use Gyoza's new Multi-City Explorer tool

As Gyoza Flights grows, we’re always looking to introduce new features. One of the latest concepts is Multi-City Explorer, where our tool suggests some pre-made itineraries with at least two Business Class reward seats from end to end.

The tool is still being improved, with a custom builder in the works. But here’s how you can use it right now, and an example of a trip you could book with it.

Our new Multi City Explorer on the homepage is where you should start. Browse the pre-built itineraries, seeing if the dates, destinations and points cost works for you. We quote costs for the whole itinerary and for the number of people mentioned (usually two).

Note that most itineraries involve a mix of Qantas and Velocity Points. You can see the exact breakdown by clicking on ‘View Itinerary’, which then opens up browser tabs for every flight you need to book. Some of these tabs are ‘deeplinked’, so they’ll go straight to the flight results page without you needing to enter anymore info.

Also keep an eye on ‘Availability last checked’ to ensure the seats are still reasonably recent. Remember that reward seat availability can fluctuate very quickly (especially if someone books a seat from under you), so do act fast if you want to lock in the flights.

Let’s take a closer look at the itinerary on the top-right. ‘East Asia Explorer’ takes you from Adelaide to Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Singapore and back again, all in Business Class. Clicking ‘View Itinerary’ displays the following flight searches automatically.

1. Malaysia Airlines Business Class from Adelaide to Kuala Lumpur

2. Malaysia Airlines Business Class from Kuala Lumpur to Hong Kong

Cost: 46,000 Qantas Points + AU$155 per person

3. Singapore Airlines Business Class from Hong Kong to Singapore

Cost: 44,500 Velocity Points + AU$248 per person

4. Singapore Airlines Business Class from Singapore to Adelaide

Cost: 74,000 Velocity Points + AU$284 per person

Total Cost: 119,400 Qantas Points + 118,500 Velocity Points + AU$865 per person, or 475,800 points (mixed) + AU$1,730 total for two people return.

Of course, you’re free to play around with the dates from what is already suggested, just in case there are other reward seats that suits. But hopefully, you’ll get a fully working itinerary on your first try. The example above uses an almost-equal mix of Qantas and Velocity Points, which highlights the benefits of collecting in both programs.
