Despite being based in Canada, Aeroplan is an interesting program you should consider, particularly if you are happy to buy points in bulk for cheaper flights.
With the right points bonus, you can often book one-way Business Class flights between Asia and Australia for around $1,100 each way, including fees and taxes. That can often be more than half price off retail pricing!
Gyoza Flights can also help you with finding reward seats on a range of airlines, which is handy to use before deciding whether you want to use points or not.

We can see that 10 February 2027 has two seats available on the 4:10pm departure. Ignore the price of 74,000 points, as that’s for Velocity.
When we cross-check that on the Air Canada website, we can see the same two seats available for 45,000 points + CAD $155.

Unfortunately, the price of this particular award will increase to 52,500 points from 1 June onwards. But it can still be good value.
Once you sign-up for an Air Canada account, you’ll be able to buy points. Look out for ‘bonus point promotions’, such as an extra 90% bonus points when you buy. That’s the best time to secure your points at a better price (though a 100% bonus is even better).
With this 90% bonus, it costs CAD $3,750 (or around AUD $3,815) for 190,000 points, which is enough for four of those Singapore Airlines Business Class flights.

Divide that by four, and it’s around AUD $954 a flight. Add fees and taxes (around AUD $158 a flight) and you can effectively buy Business Class for AUD $1,112 each way, all costs included.
At least, until the next points devaluation.
